Cage the Elephant, one of the bands that will perform in Mad Cool Festival 2017, just annouced the release of a new live-album entitled Unpeeled next July 28th.
The album had been recorded during their recent Live & Unpeeled tour; ae series of acoustic, intimate concerts across the US, in cities like Los Angeles, Knoxville, and Washington, DC. Those shows were also recording sessions, however, and now the sound of Cage unplugged is coming home as the band’s latest album.
A 21-track collection; 18 of them reworkings of the band’s own material, while the other three are covers, including The Stranglers’ Golden Brown and Daft Punk’s Instant Crush. The third is a remake of the punk classic Whole Wide World by Wreckless Eric.
Last night Cage the Elephant performs a live version of "Whole Wide World" for Late Night with Seth Meyers. Watch it below.
