Retransmitted by the BBC, the singer from Walsall and the band from Manchester won three awards during the gala.

The Brit Awards 2019 awarded last night the band The 1975, led by Matty Healy, with the awards Best Band and Album of the Year to the disc ‘A Brief Inquiry into Online Relationships’ during the gala that took place in Arena 02 Sala and that was retransmitted by the BBC. 

Thanks to this recognition, the band from Manchester has become a referent of British music achieving a recognized position on the music industry. In this third work, the band talks about contemporary issues such as, addition to social networks or refugees situation. Arctic Monkeys were witness of the event. Actually, during their speech of gratitude, Healy mentioned the band stating: ‘Thanks to Arctic Monkeys for being so relevant and influential in 2019’ and they also took advantage of the moment to make an statement against the misoginia in the music industry. However, Matty Healy’s talent was not the only recognized during the XXXIX edition of this awards ceremony.

The 21-year-old Jorja Smith, repeated last year’s success wining once again the Critics Choice, she also won the award to the British Female Solo Artist. Her extraordinary voice and personality, make of Jorja the new face of soul, R&B and hip-hop from the UK. And Mad Cool the unique scenery to enjoy her music next to The 1975. The winners of this significant musical date, together. 

With Hugh Jackman as the master of the ceremony, The 1975 and Jorja Smith offer to the assistants of the gala the performing of the singles: ‘Sincerity is Scary’ and ‘Don’t Watch Me Cry’.
