Mad Cool Festival, candidate for the Best Festival in the World at the NME 2020 Awards

19-01-2020

- We are the only spanish festival competing under this category

This morning, British magazine NME (New Musical Express), one of the most prestigious in the sector, announced their nominations for the NME Awards 2020, and Mad Cool is the only Spanish festival competing for the BEST FESTIVAL IN THE WORLD AWARD. We are also the first Spanish festival to have been picked as nominee for these awards, which are considered to be one of the most important and influential in the music industry. This honour that we are receiving right before our 5th Anniversary comes to show once again that Mad Cool Festival is one of the best and most interesting festivals in all of Europe: A world-wide role model in the musical landscape.

Mad Cool Festival shares this nomination with festivals of the standings of Glastonbury, All Points East, Reading and Leeds, Wireless in the UK, Coachella in Los Angeles (California, United States), Rock in Río in Rio de Janeiro (Brasil), Fuji Rock in Naeba (Japan) and Sziget in Budapest (Hungary). The winners will be announced on the 12th of February during a gala that will be held in London.

Mad Cool Festival already won THE BEST LINE-UP AWARD OF 2018, the first edition of the best European festivals awards by NME magazine, making Mad Cool the first non-British festival to have received an award of this type.

Mad Cool Festival will be opening its doors again on 8, 9, 10 and 11 July, with huge headliners such as Taylor Swift, Twenty One Pilots, Billie Eilish, The Killers, Kings of Leon and Faith No More. Tickets for sale on: madcoolfestival.es

Founded in 1952, NME magazine (New Musical Express) is one of the most iconic music journals in history. They have not only set the bar of musical standards in the UK, but in the whole world. Their awards, the NME Awards, have been given out to the best (and also worst) every year since 1958, and have helped forge and boost the careers of names such as Blur, Oasis, The Rolling Stones and Britney Spears.

More news is just around the corner!
