If you visit Alcalá de Henares keep in mind the summer offering of the Corral de Comedias (www.corraldealcala.com), and if you plan to pass through San Lorenzo de El Escorial, do not forget to book at the Royal Colosseum of Carlos III. It is the oldest active and fully-roofed covered theater in Spain. It is a must-see that brings together the best of the great works and authors of all time every year, that you can enjoy in an incomparable natural and historical setting.

Your summer cannot end without one of the great dates of Dance, Music and Theater that the Community of Madrid has programmed for you! On August 24, we wait for you in Teatros del Canal. www.teatroscanal.com

We also propose a fun way to discover part of our historical and literary heritage through dramatization, with offerings such as Entre fábricas ypalacios (Between factories and palaces), in the Centro de Interpretación de Nuevo BaztánLetras y espadas (Letters and swords) en la Casa Museo Lope de Vega; and En un lugar llamado Alcalá (In a place called Alcalá), in the Museo Casa Natal de Cervantes and in the Castillo de Manzanares El Real.

There is a way to avoid heat in Madrid; immerse yourself in the temporary exhibitions of its spaces for art and large museums:

CA2M Centro Arte Dos de Mayo during the month of July invites you to explore historical events as paradoxical as those of the republican rearguard in the Spanish Civil War (Pedro G. Romero), to experiment with new methods and production formats (Rometti Costales) and to contemplate photographs of the animal world in the most diverse contexts (Jochen Lempert).

Las Salas Alcalá 31, Arte Joven and Canal offer a range of essential temporary exhibitions: the latest creative proposals by artists such as Montserrat Soto and Eugenio Ampudia, the colorful photographic works of Ricardo Cases and a well-deserved tribute to the images of Ricard Terré, as well as the latest project of young curators entitled Ya no nos importa (We no longer care). A few months, with a lot of art.
