It's official: Arctic Monkeys will perform in the next edition of Mad Cool Festival 2018. The band founded in Sheffield in 2002 is one of the greatest standards of modern alternative music.
Ever since they released their successful debut album –Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not (2006)– Alex Tuner (vocals, guitar), Matt Helders (drums), Jamie Cook (guitar) and Nick O'Malley (bass) they have not lowered the bar a bit. Favourite Worst Nightmare (2007), Humbug (2009) –produced by from Queens Of The Stone Age's Josh Homme–, Suck It and See (2011), AM (2013)...
With each new album they have established themselves as the most important band of their generation. AM debuted at number 1 in 10 countries around the world and charted in the top 10 in 27 others.
Their songs –including hits like I Bet You Look Good On The Dance Floor, Fluorescent Adolescent or Do I Wanna Know?– have been streamed in excess of six billion times, with 5.5 million streams listened to every day. Arctic Monkeys are a global phenomenon: the ultimate stadium band capable of gathering a truly massive audience on both side of the Atlantic.
They are the only band to have won both Best British Group and British Album of The Year at the Brits three times. The band has now won seven Brit awards out of nine nominations since their debut album in 2006. Other achievements include an Ivor Novello award, a Mercury Music Prize, 20 NME awards, five Q awards and three Grammy nominations.
Four years after their last visit to our country, Arctic Monkeys will arrive at Mad Cool Festival 2018 with their long awaited new album and a state of the art machinery which will make us vibrate with their spectacular performance.
