Hurray For The Riff Raff is the brainchild of Alynda Segarra, a singer and songwriter with Puerto Rican roots who's been forging a tremendous sound that draws from rock and Latin folk. Add to that a hardened sense of feminist pride, and you have one of the most outstanding representatives of the movement in the world.
Segarra's musical formation goes back to her childhood in the Bronx, where her aunt Nereida played her doo-wop and Motown records.
Her latest, critically acclaimed album, 'The Navigator', features a great variety of styles, and holds anthems such as 'Hungry Ghost', 'Rican Beach', and 'Pa’lante'. It once again displays her love for analog sounds, the same way previous works did, like 'Small Town Heroes' (2014), her debut on ATO Records.
