> The Icelandic band with an American heart will play at Mad Cool 2018.
> Their latest album, A/B (2016), has sold over 800,000 copies worldwide.
Kaleo is a young band hailing from Mosfellsbær (Iceland) formed in 2012 by four childhood friends: guitarist and singer Julius Son (Jökull Júlíusson), drummer David Antonsson, bass player Daniel Kristjansson and guitarist Rubin Pollock. Despite their background, their main influences are American blues and rock acts.
So far they have released one EP and two studio albums, the latest being A/B (2016), which sold over 800,000 copies around the world thanks to hit songs like All The Pretty Girls (written during a trip to Tarifa) and Way Down We Go, Nº1 in the US Billboard Chart.
The band’s popularity has kept growing over the past few years thanks to some of their songs being played at TV series such as Orange is the New Black, Vinyl, Grey's Anatomy and The Leftovers, among others.
The four-piece was chosen by The Rolling Stones themselves to open for them in three of the band’s European dates (Hamburg, Munich and Spielberg). With such a background, it is fair to say that Kaleo will arrive at Mad Cool 2018 at the height of their career.
