> The New Jersey Band has been the top leader for indie music for more than 30 years.
>Their fifteen albums are a sole proof of truly intimate songs where original compositions and adaptations of legendary bands come together.
Yo la tengo has earned the title of top leader for indie music due to its eclecticism, their creative ambition and good taste. With 15 studio albums under their belts, where we can highlight Can Hear the Heart Beating as One (1997) or And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out (2000), the band has explored from the uttermost of noise rock, the shoegaze to the melodic pop and textbook composition.
The band was founded by the couple Iria Kaplan (vocals and guitarist ) and Georgia Hubley (vocals and drums) in Hoboken (New Jersey) in 1984, who would be joined by Dave Schramnn (original guitarist, again in the band since 2015) and James McNew (bassist since 1992).
Often compared to The Velvet Underground (they even played the role of this band in the movie I Shot Andy Warhol). The band has always had preference for versions, they have recorded songs from ( The Kinks, Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac or The Cure) As a matter of fact in their latest album to date Stuff Like That There (2015), They have included versions from other artist as well as semi acoustic interpretations of their own work.
With a career of more than 30 years, their performance in Mad Cool 2018 will be such an exciting event as a surprising one, where we will listen to delicate rhythms as well as deafening sounds where noise will play the leading role.
