Mad Cool Festival has taken home the 'New Gig On The Block' gong at this years Arthur Awards ceremony at the International Live Music Conference (ILMC). The Madrid festival was up against stiff competition in the category which pitted the best new festivals in Europe against each other - any festival up to three years old was eligible for the award.

This exciting news comes in the wake of some incredible bookings for the 2019 edition which looks set to take Mad Cool Festival into a league of its own with artists like Bon Iver, The 1975, The Chemical Brothers, Robyn and The Cure already announced!

Beginning in 2016 at the smaller site of Caja Mágica, Mad Cool Festival has grown year-on-year thanks to the appreciation and support of the music fans and festival goers for their uniquely curated events; first edition acts included The Who, Neil Young, and Prodigy. 2017, with the festival in its sophomore year, brought Foo Fighters, Green Day, Kings of Leon, M.I.A, Wolf Alice, Kurt Vile plus many more to Spain’s capital city.

For 2019, Mad Cool Festival has set itself the task of creating a world-beating festival and if this first raft of announcements is anything to go by, it looks like the winners of the NME award for ‘Best Festival Line Up’ in 2018 is on course to achieve this goal. The Mad Cool Festival team are working overtime to put together a thrilling bill for 2019 as these first bookings attest. Mad Cool Festival are also ensuring that in general, going forward, the broader festival is enhanced and upgraded to a truly five-star audience focused experience.
