Mad Cool Festival is pleased to announce the Pedro Aunión Space for Performing Arts honouring and remembering our colleague Pedro Aunión. The space will be dedicated to contemporary dance, fashion and audio-visual creation.
Among the shows that will take place during the three days of the festival, there will be a stunning daily performance between shows by two internationally-renowned performing arts companies, Adrien Mondot & Claire Bardainne (France) and Toom Pak (Madrid). For the second consecutive year, fashion will be part of the festival thanks to Mad Cool Walk, a Fashion Week of sorts, featuring a total of 13 streetwear brands.
Adrien Mondot & Claire Bardainne present Hakanaï
Hakanaï is a Japanese term meaning "what is temporary, fragile, evanescent and transitory occurring between dream and reality". Created by the French company Adrien Mondot & Claire Bardainne, the show combines contemporary dance and digital animation, turning technology into pure poetry.
While a dancer inside a cube of light interacts with ever-changing visual projections with the cadence of images, the movements create a technologic view, hypnotic as the live music used as a soundtrack.
Toom Pak, percussion with recycled materials
Toom Pak are luthiers of atypical objects and percussions but, above all, they are musicians who create vibrant shows of industrial sounds. Established in 2003 in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid), their talent has won them a place in the international cultural scene, participating in outstanding events like the 2010 World Cup ceremony in South Africa.
Toom Pak has created an exclusive performance for Mad Cool Festival 2018 featuring the best of their repertoire, a merge of tribal rhythms and recycled materials in an energetic and original show.
Mad Cool Walk: Mad Cool Festival's Fashion Week
Mad Cool Walk, the festival's street wear fashion week, will return this year co-directed by Mad Cool Festival and ProjectRoom, and curated by Neo 2. A total of 13 brands will present their collections, designers include: Amos Tranque, Blacknesia, Cupid Killer, Doku, Etc by Etcetera, Frev Clothing, Grimey, Hei Black Fashion, Joaquin Fuster, Las Culpass, Not Guilty Homme, This Is Shit and Tiwel.
As added value to the shows, different elements such as music, art and sport will be staged with the aim to create a unique experience making the most of all urban culture. In addition, some of the most prominent faces from UNO Models will strut the catwalk.
Both fashion and performing arts shows will have a limited capacity. We will soon announce the schedule of all the activities that will be held at the multidisciplinary Pedro Aunión Space through our official social media platforms.
